Several hundred cyclists took the streets of Cartago today in order to celebrate the first anniversary of the inauguration of the first urban bicycle path Costa Rica's Greater Metropolitan Area. The event was organized by A Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Cartago and the Dutch Embassy in the context of the Sustainable Mobility campaign.
Different activities throughout the day were designed to promote the use of the bicycle as non-motorized urban transport and to help generating a culture that endorses the bike as a healthy means of transport in Costa Rica. In the context of an exhibition on global bike culture, the Municipality of Cartago announced the construction of the first bike rental stations in Costa Rica to be designed by A Foundation.
